Celebrating Six Years
We were waiting with baited breath. The moment was almost here.

After months of preparation and twelve hours of labor, our son entered the world weighing 7 pounds 13 ounces. We were a family of three.

He’s our first born.

Nothing could have prepared me for the experience of being a mother or for the depth of love that one has for their child. I had no idea how much God would teach me about Himself through the gift of parenthood.

It is our joy, honor, and blessing to be his mother and father as he grows and learns.

God gave our son many quirks, characteristics, and personality that makes him unique. He is curious, logical, passionate, extremely serious, silly, sensitive, tough, and tender.

God is giving our oldest a consciousness, concern, and love for others that we see most often displayed through a heart that enjoys being a helper.

We have a great hope and desire for our son – that God will rescue his heart and that he will become a man that loves Jesus above all else. After all, as Jesus said, “ What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” We pray that God will mold him into a man of great resolve, integrity, conviction, courage, humility, strength, boldness and unwavering faith.

Happy sixth birthday, W!
